TNOC / DNS – February 2016 Batch

12 months Pre-Sea Training course followed by 18 months of Structured Shipboard Training as TNO (Deck Cadet) under Indian Maritime University (IMU) -Directorate General of Shipping (D G Shipping) project, leading to Degree in B. Sc. (Nautical Science) to be conducted at Maritime Training Institute at Powai (Mumbai) & Tuticorin (Tamilnadu), owned by The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd.

Not more than 25 Years as on 1st August 2015. Age Relaxation - 05 Years for SC / ST and Female candidates will be granted age relaxation of 2 years.

Educational Qualifications:
(a) Pass in 10+2 examination from a recognized Board with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) with not less than 60% marks. (Students who have appeared for 10+2 examination and waiting for results are also eligible to apply & qualify for examination subject to their securing 60% marks in PCM prior commencement of course). (OR)
(b) Pass in B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics with not less than 50% marks in
final year from a recognized university. Physics should be an individual subject in one of the years in B.Sc. provided that the candidate must have passed 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) from a recognized University. (OR)
(c) B.E. / B. Tech. degree from I.I.T. or from a college recognized by AICTE. (and) Minimum 50% in English subject as a separate subject, at either 10th or 12th standard or in Degree, conducted by a recognized Board or University.

Medical Standard and Eye Sight: Candidate must have good health and be fit for sea service as per existing MS Medical rules 2000 / MLC 2006 applicable to seafarers.
(1) Height: Minimum 157 cms. Reduction in height for the candidates from hilly and tribal areas will be in accordance with Govt. guidelines.
(2) Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
(3) Hearing: Normal.
(4) Visual Standard: 6/6 (Normal Eye). Defective colour vision (Colour Blindness) NOT accepted.

Selection Process: Online Examination and Various Schedule
The selected candidates who qualify for IMU CET i.e. Common Entrance Test will be admitted for training at Maritime Training (MTI) at Powai and Tuticorin. Both SCI institutes are affiliated to Indian Maritime University (IMU), Chennai, A Central University setup by Government of India.
All interested candidates must appear and qualify IMU CET i.e. Common Entrance Test which is mandatory in order to join MTI Powai and Tuticorin. Final selection will be purely on the merit list of IMU CET Results.

Emoluments:
DGM OR Manager (Permanent) –> Selected candidates for the post of Deputy General Manager would be placed in the scale of ₹ 32900 - 58000 with basic pay at the starting of the scale, with a probation period of one year. Selected candidates for the post of Manager would be placed in the scale of ₹ 29100 - 54500/- with basic pay at the starting of the scale, with a probation period of one year.
DGM (Contract) -> Selected candidates would be paid consolidated emoluments of ₹ 1,25,000/- per month (all inclusive-CTC) and shall be covered under Workmen's Compensation Insurance. No other benefits / perks will be provided. Income Tax will be deducted at source as per prevailing rules.
Accounts Assistant -> Selected candidate would be paid consolidated emoluments of ₹ 40,000/- per month (all inclusive-CTC) and shall be covered under Workmen's Compensation Insurance. No other benefits / perks will be provided. Income Tax will be deducted at source as per prevailing rules.
Educational Qualification and Experience:
Deputy General Manager OR Manager (Permanent) –> MEO Class I COC issued by Government of India for the post of Deputy General Manager (OR) MEO Class II COC issued by Government of India/ MEO Class III COC (NCV) Chief Engineer issued by Government of India for the post of Manager. Selected candidates holding MEO Class I COC would be placed as Deputy General Manager. Selected candidates holding MEO Class II COC or MEO Class III COC (NCV) Chief Engineer would be placed as Manager. Experience - For the post of Deputy General Manager, minimum sailing experience (article period) as Chief Engineer holding MEO Class I COC should be 36 months as on 01.01.2016. (OR) For the post of Manager, minimum sailing experience as Second Engineer holding MEO Class II COC OR MEO Class III (NCV) Chief Engineer should be 24 months as on 01/01/2016.
Deputy General Manager (Contract) -> Master (FG) issued by Government of India (OR) MEO Class I (FG) issued by Government of India. Minimum sailing experience (article period) as Master (FG) / Chief Engineer Officer (FG) should be 36 months as on 01/01/2016.
Accounts Assistant -> 3 year's full time Bachelor's Degree in Commerce i.e. B. Com from Institutions / Colleges and Universities / Deemed Universities duly recognised by UGC. 02 years work experience in accounting in a Public / Private Limited Company.
Selection Process: Shortlisted candidates would be called for personal interviews at Port Blair, Vizag, Chennai and Kolkata. The shortlisted candidates will be intimated through E-mail.
