Senior Scientist Positions in ICAR

Applications are invited from Indian Citizens for direct selection to the following Senior Scientist positions in the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi and its Institutes. These positions are to be filled up on tenure basis for a period of five years (Advt. No. 02/2017) :

Vacancy Positions :

• Senior Scientists : 52 positions in various disciplines and institutes, Pay Scale : ₹37400-67000 + RGP of  ₹9000/-, Age : 47 years as on 28/02/2017 only. 

Application Fee : 

₹500/- in the form of bank DD in favour of Secretary, ASRB payable at New Delhi. SC/ ST/ PH/ Women candidates are exempted.

 Agricultural Scientists’ Recruitment Board (ASRB) will hold a Competitive ARS Examination – 2015 Preliminary Examination in combination with National Eligibility Test (NET) - 2015  for filling up the vacancies of Scientists in Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in the pay scale of Rs. 15600-39100 grade pay Rs.6000 in the ICAR Institutes in various disciplines :

NET Examination is conducted for being eligible for the positions of Lecturer/Assistant Professor in State Agricultural Universities / Agricultural Universities.

Examination : Online Preliminary Examination for ARS - 2015 combined with NET - 2014 (II)  04/12/2015 to 10/12/2015.  


Age : A candidate seeking admission to the Agricultural Research Service must have attained the age of 21 years but not have attained the age of 32 years as on 01/08/2015.  For Net - 21 years as on 01/08/2015 (no upper age limit)

Qualification  : A candidate must have a Master's degree or equivalent in the concerned subject.


Fee : Rs. 500/- for ARS - 2015 (No fee for SC/ST/PWD/Women exempted) and Rs. 1000/- for NET 2015  (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/PWD) (No fee from Women candidates) Rs. 1500/- for both ARS and NET examination (Rs. 250/- for both examination for SC/ST/PWD) (No fee from Women)

Educational Qualification: A Doctoral degree in relevant discipline (any branch of Agricultural Science including relevant basic sciences / Home Science / Social Science / any branch of Veterinary Science / Animal Science including relevant basic sciences). At least 5 years experience as Principal Scientist/Professor or in an equivalent position.

Selection Process: Shortlisted applicants must appear for PERSONAL INTERVIEW at such a place, as may be fixed by the ASRB.

Application Fee: A Crossed Demand Draft (DD) for Rs.500/-, valid for 3 (three) months and drawn in favour of SECRETARY,ASRB payable at New Delhi (India). For the candidates from abroad, the application fee should be accompanied with a crossed International Bank Draft for US $50 drawn in favour of SECRETARY, ASRB, payable at New Delhi (India). The SC/ST/Women/Physically Handicapped (PH) applicants/candidates are exempted from the fee.
